The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is a public research university located in Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong.

Founded in 1911 during the British Colonial era, it is the oldest tertiary institution in Hong Kong. Today HKU has 10 faculties with international students comprising around 24% of the student population. It exhibits strength in scholarly research and teaching of humanities, law, political sciences, biological sciences and medicine. The language of instruction is English, except when learning a particular language is an objective of the course.

HKU has gained international recognition for its accomplishments as a research-led comprehensive university.
